About Eric Davis
I founded Cardinal Bookkeeping Services because I wanted to find a meaningful way to put my background to work for the people around me. With a degree in accounting, an MBA with a concentration in Business Analytics from the University of Charleston, and years of experience working in finance and procurement roles in the U.S. Army and federal government, I had a skillset that I knew could help those in my community grow the businesses that make Charleston special.
I have dedicated my adult life to public service, and now I bring that same spirit of commitment and integrity to helping small business owners take control of their finances. The same standard of accuracy and accountability that my public service required of me carries into every client relationship — while keeping things personal and approachable. When you work with Cardinal Bookkeeping, you work directly with me. I'm the one keeping your books, answering your questions, and making sure your finances are in order month after month.
In my personal life, I am a freelance trumpet player, the owner of a dog and more cats than I'll admit to, and a hobbyist birder.

The name Cardinal Bookkeeping comes from two things close to my heart — a love of birdwatching and a deep pride in being a West Virginian. The Northern Cardinal is West Virginia's state bird, and one that's always stood out to me in my time outdoors. It is bold, distinctive, and impossible to miss. It felt like the right symbol for a business built to embody those same qualities.
